Explode Archive - Here is How
Hi All, New poster here but not new to archive. We are engaged in a project to preserve sensitive content of all forms (audio / video / text) especially dangerous to the PTB (powers that be - for now...) banks, attorneys, etc. We have chosen to implement a process that partners with IA to store and link to this data.
Problem is - the utilities built into the AI site are well below par and could be greatly improved.
Using FFMPEG tools instead of having users downloading and re-uploading and having to populate Title, Description, Keywords etc... why not use technology to do this.
AI archivists and common users would make the archive explode if given modern tools to upload.
For example - user should be able to paste YouTube / Vimeo etc. URL into the add media window and have the system harvest all relevant thumbnail, title, and other tedious meta information. This gets reviewed by human, and submitted - that's it... system grabs the video and does the transfer and population to AI.
Make sense? Can someone post - forward - to the AI tech team who could implement?
I installed FFMPEG onto our servers and added a similar utility to our site in about 10 minutes - you can see how it works here - http://freedombasecamp.org/library/videos-embedded
